Ram Mandir inaugration: Corridors, flyovers in the making as Ayodhya gears up for tourist influx

Ahead of the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22, preparations are in full swing in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Ahead of the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, preparations are in full swing and several development works have entered their final stages in the city which is expected to host thousand of footfall.  

Informing about the status of development works underway, Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya Gaurav Dayal said that four major corridors are being built, out of which three have been completed.

“Four major corridors are being constructed out of which three have been completed. The work at Rampath has been going on at war footing. And we have set a deadline of 30 December… Flyovers will be constructed phase-wise, some lanes will become operational by 30 December, and others will open up as and when work is completed," Dayal said. 

The decorations at Rampath, Bhakti Path and Sugriva Fort are in the final stages. The walls are decorated with terracotta and fine clay mural artefacts.

The Uttar Pradesh government has presented supplementary demands in the state legislature for Rs 28,760.67 crore, including around Rs 175 crore for different Ayodhya development projects for 2023-24.

'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path': Temple main enterance embellished 

The main entrance of Ram temple, which will be called ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path,’ have underwent embellishments including light and canopy works. The entrance road is 90 feet wide.

According to the district administration, beautification work is also underway at the Ramkatha Museum located at Nayaghat.

Ayodhya Railway Station construction

The construction work of a grand railway station in Ayodhya has also reached the final stage. PM Modi will inaugurate the station, which boasts modern architecture and all the facilities. There are plans to connect trains from various parts of the country to Ayodhya station.

Trains will start operating from January 19, days before the inauguration ceremony, according to officials. Ayodhya will be connected to key cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, Nagpur, Lucknow and Jammu.
