Robber Fires Gunshots During Vehicle Check Near Film City, Noida Police Chase & Nab Him In Encounter

Noida: The Noida police have nabbed a desperate robber, wanted in several cases, after an encounter near Film City. The encounter took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, during which the robber, who attempted to escape from the clutches of the police by firing gunshots at them, sustained a gunshot injury on his leg. The police immediately seized the weapon and shifted the accused to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to the Noida police, the incident took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, when the police team from Sector 20 police station was checking the vehicles at the toilet intersection near the DLF Mall under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Praveen Singh.

Police Are Searching For The Associate Of Accused

As per the police, during the vehicle check, two boys were seen coming on a bike. When they were signalled to stop, instead of stopping, they attempted to escape from the point. The police immediately started chasing them, to which the bike-ridden criminals allegedly opened fire at the police near Sector 16A Film City on the banks of the drain.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the firing of the criminals. In retaliatory action from the police, a miscreant identified as Neeraj was injured and arrested. Meanwhile, his associate escaped from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.

The police recovered one stolen motorcycle without a number used in the commission of crime, one pistol, one cartridge and three mobile phones from the possession of the accused. The injured accused Neeraj was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

During the inquiry, it was found that the accused committed the crime of snatching and robbing purses and mobiles from young men and women passing by. About nine cases of robbery, theft and gangsterism are registered against the accused.

The police are collecting further information regarding the criminal history of the accused. Efforts are being made to nab the other accused, who escaped from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
