‘Touched me Inappropriately’: Actress Alleges Sexual Assault by Co-Actor During Holi Celebration

Mumbai: In a shocking incident that occurred during Holi celebrations in Mumbai, a television actress has reported an alleged case of sexual harassment against a male co-actor. The incident is said to have taken place at a party organized on a residential terrace in the Jogeshwari area.

According to police sources, the victim, a 29-year-old actress known for her work in television serials and currently associated with an entertainment channel, filed a complaint after the accused, despite her refusal, forcibly applied color on her during the celebration.

The actress recounted that she tried to avoid the situation by hiding behind a stall on the terrace, but the male co-actor followed her and attempted to throw colors on her. The actress further alleged that he touched her inappropriately, prompting her to push him away in an effort to distance herself. Distressed by the incident, she went to the washroom to compose herself.

Afterward, she confided in her friends about the traumatic experience. Concerned for their friend's safety, her friends confronted the accused actor, leading to a physical altercation. Following this confrontation, the actress, accompanied by her friends, went to the nearest police station to report the incident.

The police confirmed that a case has been registered based on the actress's complaint, and an investigation is underway. Authorities stated that after filing the complaint, they contacted the accused actor, sending him a notice to appear for questioning at the police station.

This incident has raised concerns about safety and misconduct during festive events, with many individuals within the entertainment community rallying to support the actress in her pursuit of justice. The police investigation continues as they seek to gather all pertinent information regarding the case.

The case has been registered at Mumbai's Amboli Police Station under Section 75(1)(I) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, and a notice has been issued against the accused co-actor.
