Maharashtra: A chilling incident has surfaced from Maharashtra's Kolhapur where a man rammed his car into multiple vehicles in the early hours on Saturday. The incident was caught on camera.
According to initial reports, the man behind the wheels had suffered a heart attack due to which he lost the control of the vehicle and rammed into several others.
A video of the incident which has surfaced on social media shows a speeding car crashing down the ground near a flyover in Maharashtra, before it vanished from the camera frame.
The car was being driven by one Dheeraj Patil, 55, who was returning home from work when he suffered the heart attack and lost the control of his vehicle.
Reports say his car hit at least 10 different vehicles including an auto, two bikes, a car among others. The man didn't survive the incident.
Upon post-mortem, it was found that the man had suffered a heart attack, which was the primary reason that he lost the cruise control and caused the accident.
In another horrific car crash incident, a youth rammed his speeding car into multiple vehicles in Gujarat's Vadodara on Holi eve, killing a woman and injuring several others.
The entire incident was caught on camera. However, besides the accident, the events that unfolded after the crash emerged as more shocking.
The youth behind the wheels, identified as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, was found allegedly drunk or intoxicated.
After ramming the vehicle, which belonged to his friend, into a two-wheeler, the youth was seen shouting, “Another round, another round, Nikita, Om Namah Shivay”. His conduct after the accident showed that he didn't realise the mess caused due to his driving. Rakshit was accompanied by one of his friend identified as Meet Pranshu Chauhan.
Pranshu Chauhan, who got down of the vehicle soon after the crash, was heard telling bystanders and people around that he wasn't at fault as the car was being driven by Rakshit (Mera kuch nahi hai, woh chala raha tha car).
Bystanders and eyewitnesses who were present at the accident site held the accused, thrashed him before handing over to the police.
Speaking on the matter, Panna Momaya, Zone 4 DCP, Vadodara in an official statement had said, “…horrific hit and run in Karelibaugh is a case of over speeding. The accused was arrested from the spot. Different teams have been formed to investigate the same. The FSL team has collected necessary samples from the site. Blood samples have also been collected. We are also going to analyse the whereabouts of the accused and his friend of the entire day. Drunk driving angle will also be probed. FIR against the accused has been filed under section 105 of BNS.”
Rakshit Chaurasia, who earlier denied he was intoxicated later admitted that he had consumed ‘Bhaang’. On Saturday, he was taken to the accident site to recreate the scene.
