Hyderabad: Amid the chaos caused by truck drivers nationwide over the new hit-and-run law causing massive traffic snarls, a Zomato delivery boy stole the stage by riding a horse so that his deliveries could be made on time.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad. Videos of the Zomato boy were shared on social media platform X. The video showed the man donning the red Zomato T-shirt with his delivery bag, and gracefully waving at the public as he rides the horse.
This unexpected sight left the other commuters in sheer amazement and the video soon became an online sensation.
An X user shared the video with the caption reading, "#Hyderabadi Bolde Kuch bhi Kardete Due To Closure of #PetrolPumps in Hyderabad, A Zomato Delivery boy came out to deliver food on horse at #Chanchalgudaa near to imperial hotel."
The boy can be heard explaining to a commuter why he chose this mode of ride. The Zomato rider said, "Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante line me khada raha. Zomato se nikal gaya..petrol nahi mila (There was no petrol. I waited in the queue for three hours. I left after taking the order but couldn’t get the petrol).”
The protest by the Transport Association and truck drivers caused the most chaos at petrol pumps, which stemmed from a fuel shortage due to the absence of trucks and oil tankers for replenishment.
This triggered panic buying at nearby stations, with hundreds of people scrambling to refuel their vehicle tanks before the situation escalated.
