New Delhi: Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has significantly reduced its subscription fees for users in India, making premium features more accessible to a wider audience across the country.

As per the latest update on the platform’s pricing portal, the basic subscription on web now starts at ₹170 per month, down from the earlier ₹243.75.

Basic subscribers can access features like post editing, long-form posts, background video playback, and video downloads, tools that were previously locked for higher-tier plans.

Annual pricing has also seen a cut, with the fee lowered to ₹1,700 from ₹2,590.48, a reduction of about 34%.

For users opting for the Premium tier, the price drop is even more noticeable. On mobile, the monthly subscription fee has been reduced by nearly 48%, now costing ₹470 compared to the earlier ₹900. On the web version, the same plan now costs ₹427 a month, down from ₹650, roughly a 34% reduction. It’s worth noting that mobile prices tend to be higher due to app store commission charges.

The Premium+ plan has also seen a substantial price cut. On web, the monthly cost has dropped by around 26%, now at ₹2,570 instead of ₹3,470. The yearly cost has also been brought down to ₹26,400 from ₹34,340.

Premium+ users enjoy an ad-free experience, access to long-form articles, and exclusive features like SuperGrok powered by Grok 4, services that are not included in the Basic or standard Premium tiers.

Mobile users opting for the Premium+ subscription will now pay ₹3,000 per month, a notable drop from the previous rate of approximately ₹5,100.
