In a heartwarming display of generosity, a man in Ludhiana, Punjab, purchased the entire stock of fruits from an elderly woman's roadside cart after learning that she had only earned Rs 100 that day.
Kawaljeet Singh Chhabra, a business consultant, shared a video of this kind act on his Instagram account a few days ago. Chhabra had initially stopped to buy fruits from the woman, who revealed that she had been operating the fruit cart for the past three years.
The woman, aged 62, shared that she worked tirelessly from morning till night to sell fruits. In response, Chhabra expressed his intention to buy all the fruits she had and proceeded to pack a variety of items, including oranges, apples, and bananas, into his car's trunk.
On his way home, Chhabra reflected on the encounter in his Instagram caption: "As I was coming home, I wanted to buy some fruits. But then, I saw this old lady sitting sadly with her small cart. She didn’t sell anything yesterday, and today she only made Rs 100. Instead of just helping her out, I wanted to lift her spirits. So, I decided to buy all the fruits from her. I could feel her pain and emotions by the way she looked at me."
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to help, Chhabra emphasized the impact of small acts of kindness: "I’m thankful to God for choosing me for such moments when I can help someone. Remember, little acts of kindness can make a big difference. We all have the power to be a light in someone’s life. And if an old lady can work hard every day, maybe we all should try it too. Let’s spread kindness and be there for each other."
In a previous viral video, Chhabra was seen taking children, who were cleaning car windshields to earn money, to a fancy restaurant for dinner. After learning that the children only had Rs 10 for food at a roadside cart, Chhabra invited them to sit in his car and treated them to a delightful meal at the upscale restaurant, including pizzas, gol gappe, a buffet dinner, and desserts.
