Snakes are one of those reptiles that make people shiver with their motion, which triggers anxiety. The fear that these reptiles create is called ophidiophobia, which comes from myths and media portrayals that cast snakes as a symbol of danger. Among them, there are people who, instead of fearing, catch and handle them with their bare hands. A video has been going viral on social media in which one man helps the snake shed its skin.

The caption of this post was also very trendy and creative, which was, "Best caption wins. Unwrapping Christmas presents will be like." The video has gained more than 1.6 million views on Instagram.

In this viral clip, the man was seen removing the dead skin from the snake’s eyes and then helping remove it completely. The man holds the snake gently, starts removing the skin from his mouth, and then peels it away from the whole skin.

Before starting the whole process, the man kisses the snake on his head. And slowly, he starts removing the dead skin from all of his body. The snake silently accepts that it helps the man do his work.

People in the reply shared their views on this act and said, "Why do I feel people that play with wild animals will one day lose their life to that same wild animals? It's called wild for a reason and shouldn't be treated like a domestic animal."

Some users funnily took this and commented, “New Year, New Me” and “New skin unlocked.”

Skin shedding is a natural process in snakes in which snakes remove their old skin. This helps them gain size and remove parasites or damaged skin. Moreover, it also helps the snakes regenerate cells, a healthy functional outer layer.
