As for Chintz, it is a type of calico textile, which first originated in Golconda (now Hyderabad, India) during the 16th century. It can be woodblock printed, painted, stained, or glazed. The word Chintz has been derived from the Hindi word chint meaning “sprayed”, or "spotted".
