This International Coffee Day, Let’s Revisit The Dalgona Coffee Craze From The COVID Lockdown

Every year, International Coffee Day is observed on October 1 to celebrate one of the most popular beverages in the world, second only to water. It was first celebrated in 2015 in Milan, and since then, it has become a tradition to observe this day.

As International Coffee Day draws near, let’s look back at the famous Dalgona coffee that took the internet by storm during the COVID lockdown.

This simple yet delicious coffee, prepared with instant coffee, cold milk, and sugar, made our challenging lockdown more bearable.

In remembrance of those days, let’s brew Dalgona coffee once again to celebrate International Coffee Day and reflect on the memorable moments from the lockdown period.

Dalgona coffee

Ingredients

• 2 tbsp Instant Coffee
• 4 tbsp or more Sugar
• 2 tbsp Hot Water
• Cold Milk as needed
• Ice Cubes as needed
• Sweetener for milk if needed

Instructions

• Take coffee, sugar, and hot water in a bowl. Mix well.
• Use a hand blender to whip this till it gets light and fluffy. It will take around 3 to 5 mins.
• Now take a serving glass. Fill with ice. Add in sweetened milk.
• Top with the whipped coffee. Stick and straw in and serve.
• Mix well and enjoy
