Ingredients

  • 1 cup Aloe Vera gel freshly peeled, distilled water, or strong-brewed herbal tea

  • ½ cup sweet almond, coconut, grapeseed, or jojoba oil
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 15 drops essential oil

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, take some Aloe Vera gel and combine it with Vitamin E oil and essential oils. Keep it aside for later, allowing it to come to room temp. (Sometimes it also helps to set this in a warm water bath to bring it to the temperature of the oil/wax mixture you will be adding it to. This helps it mix well.)
  • Add grated beeswax and oil to a glass measuring cup. Place the measuring cup in a small pot of water and boil the water to a gentle temperature. Heat, stirring occasionally, until beeswax is completely melted. Then cautiously remove the measuring cup from the pot.
  • Pour beeswax/oil mixture into a blender and allow the mixture to cool. (Move on to next step when it has cooled down but is still soft.)
  • Once the mixture is cooled, turn the blender on low. Remove the top of the blender and pour Aloe Vera mixture, ensuring slow, continuous mixing.
  • Stop blender as often as needed to use a spatula around sides to combine ingredients. If some lotion is pooling at the top, stop frequently to push it around with a spatula. (This step may take as long as 10-15 minutes, so you need to have some patience here). Continue blending the mixture until the desired consistency is grasped.
  • Transfer moisturizer to clean jars or bottles and refrigerate any portion that will not be used up within a few weeks.
