The festive season is upon us, and we tend to ignore our skin during this time. These occasions can be really harsh on your skin with really less time for skincare and more calorie intake. While everyone loves getting ready for these festivals and look gorgeous, don’t forget to give some much-needed love and care to the skin. Here is the trick to let your skin breathe easily in between these days to make sure of its natural beauty. Take a look at five skincare tips that will help you take care of your skin this festive season.

Avoid using hot water

Scrubbing your face with hot water while taking a hot shower is the worst thing for your skin. Hot water removes the natural oils from the skin and makes it look and feel dry. This may also result in the makeup applied looking cakey. Using lukewarm or cold water instead is recommended.

Leave out the soap

As the skin gets older, it is better to avoid the usage of soap. Soap based cleaners promote heavy dryness of the skin. Instead of that, a non-soap cleanser is gentle on the skin and also removes the dirt or any other signs of pollution from the skin.

Apply a home face mask

It is easy to prepare a face mask at home to suit the skin type of the person using it. In the case of dry skin, the best face mask is a tiny drop of ghee. Applying ghee on the face and leaving it for 20 minutes before washing it off will give you amazing results. In the case of oily skin, a paste of powdered rice and rose water will be helpful.

Reduce the number of products

Not just during the festive season but also on a regular basis, one should avoid using many cosmetic products. This includes makeup and skincare products. Unless it is an important meeting or a big event, try keeping it simple and usage of products to a minimum.  The more the skin is left natural, the more it will be able to breathe.

Read the label

It is very important to always know if the product you are using contains more chemicals or more natural ingredients. Avoid chemical-based products as much as possible, even if it is from the biggest of the brands. Organic and natural products are recommended.
