Paul George's much-awaited debut for the LA Clippers saw him score 33 points in a losing cause against the Pelicans. His second game for the Clippers, however, was eventful, to say the least. Paul George scored 37 points in less than 21 minutes during the game against the New Orleans Pelicans. In doing so, the Clippers' new acquisition became the first player in the history of the NBA to score 37 points in that duration. He also passed Phil Smith's record for most points in a Clippers home game.

Rapper Quavo was in attendance of Paul George's home debut for the Clippers. Quavo, a well-known Hawks fan, had to watch his side go down to the Clippers, as Paul George racked up 37 points in his second game in a Clippers shirt. As Paul George made his sixth three-pointer on the night, the former Oklahoma City Thunder star chose to boast about his accomplishment by directing a Michael Jordan-style shrug at the Migos rapper. With the Atlanta Hawks still trailing the Clippers by 44 points, Quavo chose to depart Staples Center, rather than stick around for the rest of the game.

The 150-101 win over Atlanta Hawks was, interestingly, the largest margin of victory for the Clippers in their history. In his first two games for the Clippers, Paul George has now scored a total of 70 points in 44 minutes. This feat is even more impressive, considering that George recently recovered from a major shoulder injury. Speaking after the win against the Hawks, Paul George went on to say that he hasn't felt this healthy in a long time and that the game against the Hawks could very well have been his first 50-point game. George underwent surgery earlier in May to repair a partially torn tendon in his right shoulder and another surgery a month later for a partial tear of his left labrum.

Paul George is oozing confidence after making his return from injury. His form could prove to be influential for the Clippers in the next couple of games, considering that Kawhi Leonard missed his second consecutive game and fifth overall, during the win against the Hawks. Clippers guard Patrick Beverley also missed out against the Hawks owing to a sore left calf.
