West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell showers praise on Abu Dhabi T10 league. The third edition of the tournament will commence on November 15 in Abu Dhabi.

The third edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league will commence from November 15. The 10-overs-a-side tournament will run for nine days and it will feature eight teams, just like the previous edition. After its successful debut in 2017, the tournament has gained widespread popularity from the cricketing community, making it one of the highly-anticipated limited-overs competition of the year. Heavyweights from all over the world will once again be participating in the annual tournament as all eight teams gear up to earn the coveted T10 title.

The West Indian T20 superstar becomes the latest cricketer to shower praise on the relatively new T10 league. The 31-year old said the shortest format of the game provides a perfect opportunity for cricket to become an Olympic sport. Russell has been vocal about the T10 league and he regularly posts updates about the upcoming tournament on social media.

The batting all-rounder will be joining fellow countryman Darren Sammy as the two players will appear for Northern Warriors this season. Darren Sammy, who led West Indies to two World T20 titles, will be leading the Northern Warriors. The eight-team tournament will begin from November 15 and the Warriors will open their campaign by facing Maratha Arabians in the opening Group B encounter.

The hard-hitting batsman has enjoyed a lot of international success in the limited-overs format. Russell has represented West Indies in 56 ODIs and 47 T20 internationals. He was also a part of the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cup-winning West Indies team who will be defending their title in Australia next year. Apart from his international appearances, Russell also plays for two-time IPL winning team Kolkata Knight Riders in India’s premier domestic T20 competition.
