England suffered a huge blow on the morning of Day 4 of the third Ashes Test match against arch-rivals Australia as they lost the precious wicket of skipper Joe Root which left the hosts in a spot of bother at Headingley. David Warner takes a marvelous flying catch to dismiss Joe Root

When Australia took the field on Sunday, they would have focussed on getting rid of Joe Root quickly. They succeeded in getting their man but it came in an extraordinary manner thanks to a super athletic effort from David Warner. It happened in the 78th over which was bowled by Nathan Lyon. On the third delivery, Lyon bowled a fuller one around off stump and Joe Root came down the track to play it across the line. However, the ball took the inside edge of the bat, made contact with Joe Root's pads and went straight over wicket-keeper Tim Paine's head. It appeared that the ball might end up beating everyone but then, David Warner showed a great presence of mind as he dived full length to his left and took an absolute blinder at first slip.

Can Australia rewrite history on English soil after 18 years?

Australia will be looking to pick up a win against arch-rivals England in the third Test match of the ongoing Ashes series. If Australia manage to win this match, then they would retain the 'Urn' with two matches left. The Aussies also have an opportunity to win the Ashes series for the first time on English soil in 18 years. Australia had last beaten England in England way back in 2001 to win the Ashes. Australia had drawn first blood in the opening Test match at Edgbaston by registering a comprehensive 251-run win. They then played some good cricket at Lord's and denied England a chance to settle scores. The hosts now need 124 runs while the Aussies need six more wickets.
