Rainfall has played spoilsport during the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy and no one knows it better than the teams scheduled to face each other on Saturday. In a crucial Elite Group B encounter, Delhi will be going up against Maharashtra. Every match Maharashtra have been a part of in this year’s competition was abandoned due to inclement weather or the wet outfield. Delhi are going through the same situation but they have played a match against Baroda. Both the teams would want to play more matches to keep their position on the rise in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Delhi will be filled with confidence after the return of their skipper and opener Shikhar Dhawan. He will add strength to Delhi’s batting line-up which already boasts of excellent batsmen like Hiten Dalal, Dhruv Shorey, Nitish Rana and Himmat Singh, all of them displayed great cricket in the previous season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kulwant Kejroliya and Navdeep Saini will lead the bowling department for the Delhiites in Saturday's match. Maharashtra on the other hand, also consist of formidable batsmen like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankeet Bawne, Naushad Shaikh and skipper Kedar Jadhav. Their bowling unit will be spearheaded by Samad Fallah and Satyajeet Bachhav, both the bowlers claimed 15 wickets each in last season's Vijay Hazare Trophy and once again try to repeat history.
