England cricket team celebrates the nation's semi-final win in the ongoing Rugby World Cup. The England cricket team are currently on a tour to New Zealand.

The England national rugby team defeated the legendary All Blacks New Zealand in the first semi-final of the Rugby World Cup 2019 at the International Stadium in Yokohama this past Saturday. In a one-sided encounter, England outclassed defending champions by a margin of 19-7 in front of over 68,000 people. The ongoing ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup is being played in Japan. With the win, England will now face South Africa in the final on November 2 to chase their second-ever world title. The last time an English team won the Rugby World Cup, was back in 2003 which was played in Australia and they beat the hosts and their arch-rivals in the final.

The England cricket team also enjoyed much success this year as the national side won their first-ever ICC Cricket World Cup this July by defeating New Zealand as well. In a nail-biting final, the home side clinched victory on boundary count after a thrilling Super Over, which went down to the last ball.

As England’s rugby team were dominating the semi-final proceedings in Japan, the English cricketers were enjoying the show from the sidelines. In a 15-second video tweet posted by England Cricket, the English players can be seen cheering and celebrating the rugby semi-final victory over the ‘All Blacks’.

The cricketing rivalry between these two nations does not seem to end anytime soon as the English cricket team are currently on a month-long tour to New Zealand. Starting from November 1, the two teams will engage themselves in a five-match T20I series which will be followed by two Test matches. Unlike other Test matches these days, the Test series will not form a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship.
