While the teams have always considered Indian wicketkeepers as an important part of the set-up, a few foreign wicketkeepers like Brendon McCullum, Adam Gilchrist and Jos Buttler have made a name for themselves and the teams might be tempted to pick them after Nicholas Pooran made a successful debut for Kings XI Punjab last season. 1.   Tom Banton (England)

Tom Banton, who has often drawn comparisons with Kevin Pietersen and Jos Buttler for his array of shots, is one of the top picks available in the IPL Auction 2020. The young wicketkeeper-batsman, who bats at the top of the order, has had an impressive start to his T20 career, scoring 591 runs in just 17 matches for Somerset. He has been picked by the Qalandars in the Abu Dhabi T10 as well and will also be part of the Brisbane Heat set-up in the Big Bash League. With a lot of teams looking to tinker their opening combination, Banton might just provide a perfect solution.

2.  Glenn Phillips (New Zealand)

Glenn Phillips, who made a name for himself after his impressive performances in the Caribbean Premier League, is one of the top foreign picks available in the IPL Auction 2020. Another top-order wicketkeeper-batsman, Phillips has scored a staggering 831 runs in only 21 innings across 2 CPL seasons, scoring at a strike rate of nearly 145. He is the only New Zealand cricketer to have centuries across all formats in a single domestic season and his exploits are sure to have caught the eye of the franchises.

3.  Alex Carey (Australia)

Australia’s limited-overs vice-captain Alex Carey is also one of the many players to go under the hammer in the IPL Auction 2020. A top-order batsman who can also bat in the lower order, Carey’s ability to score quickly and bat responsibly was one of the key highlights for Australia at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Carey has an impressive average of 31.10 and a strike rate of 133.55. His skills behind the stumps are also well-known and he presents a very interesting option for all the franchises.
