India beat Nepal by 23 runs; Advance to the semi-final
On Tuesday, the Men's cricket team finally set foot on the ground. Due to a superior ranking, Team India was already through to the quarterfinal. In the top 8, the Rururaj Gaikwad-led side squared off against Nepal.
After winning the toss, India opted to bat first. Skipper Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal started things off. As both the batsmen are sublime stroke players, therefore a good start was expected. Moreover, the boundary length has proven to be a huge impetus for the batsmen too.

It was Jaiswal, who launched the onslaught from the outset. The left-hander dealt in 4s and 6s and within no time got to his fifty. Gaikwad on the other hand could not find his rhythm and got out after scoring just 25 runs. Subsequently, Tilak Varma and Jitesh Sharma could not contribute much to the total and fell within 8 runs. However, Jaiswal kept on going and eventually scored his maiden T20 ton. He scored the century off just 48 balls and thereby became the 3rd quickest from India to reach the mark. Only Rohit Sharma (35) and KL Rahul (46) are ahead of him.
Chasing 203, Napal was in the hunt till the 17th over, but losing wickets at regular intervals left them at a difficult place. In the end, Nepal fell short by 23 runs. With this, India advanced to the semi-final stage.
