It seems that woes and worries for Tamil Nadu Cricket Association are refusing to die down as after being disqualified from the AGM & voting rights for BCCI elections, the very positions of TNCA's president and secretary have come under threat.

A scathing letter

In a scathing letter to BCCI Electoral Officer N Rangaswamy, a copy of which is with Republic TV, SR Parthivan, MP from Salem Constituency of Tamil Nadu has made serious charges against TNCA president Rupa Gurunath and secretary R S Ramaswamy.

In the letter, Parthivan writes:

"RS Ramasamy, who recently got elected as Honorary Secretary of TNCA cannot continue his position as office bearer of TNCA even if TNCA amends their constitution as per Justice Lodha recommendations, as approved by Hon’ble Supreme Court due to the fact that he has been the office bearer of Salem District Cricket Association for more than twenty years without any break."

"As far as Rupa Gurunath is concerned, she too cannot continue as a newly elected President of TNCA as she will fall in most categories of conflict of interest specified in BCCI Constitution. For example, she herself and her husband were owners of CSK. Her husband was caught red-handed in match-fixing and their team got suspended. When both husband and wife lived in the same room for so long, day in day out having a great relationship, it would be strange to accept her argument that she got nothing to do with match-fixing of IPL matches involving CSK.  She herself as a Director of India Cements, a major shareholder, declared that CSK valued worth 2000 crores of rupees, sold the same through back door to keep in her control for Rs.5 lakhs. This is one of the craziest and dubious deals that was buried under the carpet with approval from BCCI when her father N Srinivasan controlling it and their members on his own ways and means which is in public domain," it said.

What else forbids them?

"Besides these, both Srinivasan and Rupa, the Directors of India Cements, owners of CSK misused the funds and facilities of TNCA, BCCI that not only benefited their family members, but also India Cements with many questionable deals. In fact, the father of all cricket litigations N Srinivasan paid lawyer fees through BCCI and TNCA and very little from his pocket. The amount paid to Chairman TNPL and the then Vice-President of TNCA Mr.P.S.Raman, his brothers and associates were running into several crores of rupees clearly positioning them as the biggest beneficiaries among the entire legal communities in India. Every transaction of Mrs.Rupa and her family would land them to conflict of interest until Hon’ble Supreme Court and Justice Lodha have come up with watertight solutions," the letter mentions.

"The very same family spend more than Rs. 300 Crores for cricket stadium without lease period available with Government of Tamil Nadu and without MMDA approval and without tender. This is against BCCI norms and therefore the money spent on stadium and money siphoned off by way legal fees through their own channels to be recovered with interest. Also, all the deals are done in BCCI and ICC during her father’s tenure need thorough investigation. The kind of benefit he and his company India Cements got also be investigated.  Also, why CSK players like M.S.Dhoni never given
LBW decisions in IPL or India matches while great cricketers like Tendulkar, Kohli, Sehwag, and Gambhir were given LBW more often. It is important to know who controlled the umpiring committee of BCCI and IPL," it adds.

"In view of the above, both the above office bearers of TNCA should not be allowed to continue until they face the investigation and fall in line with Hon’ble Supreme Court approved constitution is filed before the Registrar of Societies. Also, declare the recently concluded election of TNCA as null and void. After newly registered constitution in line with Hon’ble Supreme Court
order, fresh elections to be conducted and specific directions to recover the money lost by TNCA and
BCCI. Till then, CSK money to be kept on hold and they should not be allowed to participate in IPL 2020."
