Shikhar Dhawan fully fit and available for West Indies tour selection
Ahead of the selection for India's tour of West Indies, opener Shikhar Dhawan has made himself available for selection. This comes after the star opener was ruled out due to an injury between his thumb and the index finger during ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. As per sources, Dhawan has recovered from the injury.

This comes after the star opener was ruled out due to an injury between his thumb and the index finger during ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. As per sources, Dhawan has recovered from the injury. The southpaw had sustained this injury during India's clash against the reigning World Champions Australia where a rising delivery from Pat Cummins had struck him on his thumb. However, he overcame all the odds and continued batting in pain. His efforts bore fruits as he ended up scoring a match-winning century (117 of 109 deliveries).
Gabbar had recently participated in the Bottle Cap Challenge where he stunned the former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. The 33-year-old took to Twitter and also wrote that he was picking up the bat for the first time after injury and that it felt good to be back.
The selectors will be picking the Indian squad for the tour of West Indies on Sunday. India will be travelling to the Caribbean islands as well as the United States for two Tests, three One Day Internationals and three T20Is starting from 3rd August to 4th September 2019. The three-match Test series will be a part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-2021).
Meanwhile. the veteran wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has revealed that he will not be available for selection for upcoming India's tour of West Indies. 'Captain Cool' Dhoni is a Lt Col of the Indian Territorial Army. According to a top BCCI official, the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper has made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour as he will be spending two months with his paramilitary regiment.
As the 38-year-old has backed out from the tour, youngster Rishabh Pant will be the first choice wicket-keeper in all the three formats i.e. T20I's, ODI's & Tests while Wriddhiman Saha will also be roped in for the Test series.
