India chased down 264 to beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets with 39 balls to spare in Leeds.

Before heading into the semi-finals, India secured the top position on the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup's point table after they registered a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka at Headingley Cricket ground here on Saturday. 

Sharma played a knock of 103 runs against Sri Lanka while chasing the target of 265 runs. After he smashed his third consecutive century, Sharma became the only batsman to score five centuries in a single edition of the premier tournament. Centuries by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul guided India to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup at Headingley on Saturday.

Commenting on the win, Business tycoon Anand Mahindra took to his Twitter handle and called the game a beautiful 'concert' and thanked the entire team for the 'music'. Read his full tweet below -

With the win, India have moved up to take the first place on the World Cup standings with 15 points from nine fixtures.

Chasing a moderate target of 265, India got off to a fantastic start. Rohit and Rahul stitched a solid 189-run partnership for the opening wicket. Along the way, the hitman Rohit became the only batsman to smash five centuries in a single edition of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the first semi-final will be played between India and New Zealand on July 9 while Australia will compete against the hosts England on July 11 for the second semi-final.
