It seems that the senior players are coming up with some or the other kind of interesting things in the ongoing edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). Ravichandran Ashwin was spotted bowling a bizarre delivery on a couple of occasions. On one occasion, he was also rewarded with a wicket with his awkward bowling action. This time it was the turn of another Tamil Nadu cricketer who has gone on to represent India in Test match cricket. Any guesses? He is none other than one of India's finest Test opening batsman Murali Vijay. Yes, that's right and in fact, Vijay did something strange when he was facing R Ashwin.

Murali Vijay gives Ashwin the taste of his own medicine

Vijay, who is Ashwin's Team India and former Chennai Super Kings team-mate decided to give the veteran off-spinner the taste of his own medicine. It happened when Ruby Trichy Warriors took on  Dindigul Dragons on Saturday. Vijay plays for Warriors while Ashwin leads the Dragons. In the 16th over which was bowled by Ashwin, Vijay surprised Ashwin when he took a left-handed stance. Nonetheless, he did not do any damage as he guided the ball towards the off-side and set off for a single. However, when he saw the on-field umpiring a no-ball, he immediately asked his batting partner to get back to the non-striker's end so that he could take the strike for the free hit. This time, the Indian Test batsman took his right-handed stance and made full use of the opportunity as he smashed Ashwin for a maximum into the cow corner boundary and thus, had the last laugh over the Dindigul Dragons skipper. Vijay anchored the Ruby Trichy Warriors innings well but was eventually dismissed in the final over for an outstanding 62-ball 99 at a strike rate of 159.67 which included seven boundaries and seven maximums.
