Virat Kohli was the special guest for Mumbai's opening leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 at the NSCI Dome in Worli on Saturday where the home team U-Mumba locked horns against Puneri Paltan in a Maharashtra derby. Not only was he the guest of honour but the Indian skipper had also sung the National Anthem ahead of the contest.
The 30-year-old seemed to be enjoying the contest as the cameras were mostly focussing on him. At the same time, he was also enthralled by some entertaining performances from the players which included raids and tackles. However, what impressed the fans was that of the batting superstar singing the national anthem.
They took to social media and showed their respect for Kohli.
Meanwhile, even Virat took to Twitter and said that he was honoured to be a part of such a special evening.
Kohli will next be seen in the upcoming bilateral series against West Indies where he will be leading India in all the three formats. Team India will be traveling to the Caribbean islands as well as the United States for two Tests, three One Day Internationals and three T20Is starting from 3rd August to 4th September 2019. The three-match Test series will be a part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-2021).
The top-ranked batsman in both Tests and ODI's had led the Men In Blue impressively in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 where they topped the league table with seven wins from nine games and with 15 points in their tally. Nonetheless, their dream run came to an end in the semi-final against New Zealand where the Black Caps got the better of them by 18 runs.
The Delhi batsman also impressed with the bat as he amassed 443 runs in nine matches which included five consecutive half-centuries.
