There was a strange incident that took place in the contest between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday. It involved star Rajasthan batsman Sanju Samson which resulted in the youngster's dismissal at a time when the Royals were in a spot of bother at 26/2 after having lost skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Liam Livingstone.

The incident happened in the fifth over of Rajasthan's innings which was bowled by Axar Patel. In the second delivery, Patel bowled a simple delivery on the stumps as Samson touched the ball and set for a quick single as no fielder was positioned in the covers. However, his partner Mahipal Lomror first set off from the non-striker's end but then hesitated to take the risk and went back inside his crease. Unfortunately, Samson was a long way out of his crease and when he turned back to return to his crease, Prithvi Shaw's perfect throw hit the stumps and the 24-year old's stay at the crease came to an end. A disappointed Samson walked back to the dugout as Rajasthan found themselves in further trouble.

Delhi Capitals will be aiming for a top-two finish against the 2008 winners. The Shreyas Iyer- led side have already qualified for the playoffs and were on the pole position of the points table but a huge loss against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 80 runs meant that they came down to the third position.  Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will be looking to keep their playoff hopes alive by getting the better of the hosts. At the same time, the inaugural edition winners will also be looking to avenge their home leg loss in the reverse fixture.

Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. However, his decision backfired as the Royals kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. 17-year old Riyan Parag anchored RR's innings with a splendid knock of a 49-ball 50. His knock helped Rajasthan get to a decent total of 115/9 in their 20 overs.
