Everyone has a bad day at the office. This rule is also applicable to sportspersons as well. This time, it was arguably Team India's most successful captain MS Dhoni who did not have a good day behind the stumps during Team India's ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 clash against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday as he got one decision wrong. The 2011-World Cup-winning skipper did not have a good day with the bat either as he was dismissed early for 1 by Mohammad Amir. His lightning-fast stumping chance to dismiss Fakhar Zaman did not work out either as the Pakistani opener showed a great presence of mind and grounded his feet on time.

MSD who is the maestro of DRS which is popularly known as 'Dhoni Review System' got it wrong on this occasion. It happened during the 19th over of Pakistan's big run chase of 337 run chase which was bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. On the fifth delivery, Chahal's flatter took Babar by surprise as the Pakistani batsman completely failed to judge this brilliant delivery. An appeal was made by the Indian players but the umpire gave it not out. Nonetheless, Chahal looked convinced and urged his captain Virat Kohli to go for a review who himself was confident. Before, taking a decision, Kohli approached MS Dhoni to seek his opinion who did not look convinced as he felt that the ball had hit the bat first and then struck the pads.

However, replays showed that the ball had hit the pads first and would have gone on to hit the off stump. Meanwhile, skipper Kohli did not look pleased. However, Babar did not go on to cause much damage as he was dismissed by a dream delivery from Kuldeep Yadav which was arguably the 'Ball of the Century' as Pakistan were reduced from 117/1 to 129/5 in no time as India went on to win the contest by 89 runs (DLS) method.

Nevertheless, Dhoni's rare blunder became a talking point on social media.
