Manchester United's former treble-winning goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has publicly stated that United's world-record signing Paul Pogba is proving to be problematic for his team. Based on the French midfielder's performance in United's drab 1-1 draw against Arsenal, Schmeichel said that there was a huge difference in the way the ball was being passed around- in a different way with Pogba around and in a much different way when the midfielder was not a part of the match and that is one aspect that the team really needs to work upon.

A former goalkeeper's opinion

The former Danish goalkeeper defended his comments by stating that Pogba was partially wrong in what he was doing on the field but what confused Peter more was Paul's role and contribution to the team. He further questioned how will the midfielder benefit the Red Devils during their domestic and European campaigns.

In addition to all of this, Peter added that there were a lot of United fans who were not at all happy with Pogba's recent form with respect to his ineffective contributions to his team.

Gary Neville: What option does Ole have?

Former Manchester United right-back and skipper, Gary Neville, also expressed his opinions on the Pogba saga. He said that Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer will not be in favor of Pogba wanting to leave but what option will the United manager have, if the player expresses his desire to leave the Theatre of Dreams through his agent or in person.

He further added that Paul's situation could likely have a similar fate as that of Alexis Sanchez wherein he will have to either commit his future to United and give justice to his reputation that defines him as a player.

He also said that if Pogba does not give his all to Manchester United, then the only option left on the table by the board members will be to let him go.

The world cup winning midfielder was bought from Italian giants, Juventus, with a world record fee in the year 2016. Although, he has helped the Red Devils only add 2 trophies to their trophy cabinet i.e. Europa league and the league cup.

A glimpse of Pogba's talent

Pogba was at the top of the goal-scoring chart for United in the 2019-19 season but shared a cold relationship with former manager, Jose Mourinho. Although, he has bonded well Solsksjaer but is still struggling to show a glimpse of what he was when he played for Juventus.

Meanwhile, Manchester United was held to a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford when striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's goal was given the green light after a VAR decision that in turn canceled out Scott Mctominay's 45th minute deflected goal.

Due to a lackluster display, Manchester United sit at a lowly 10th position in the table while Arsenal enjoys a cushioned 4th place in the premier league table.
