Conor McGregor: Dana White reveals Donald Cerrone as his next opponent

Conor McGregor - UFC President Dana White has revealed that the promotion is looking to book the Irishman against Donald Cerrone in for the first 2020 PPV event

Conor McGregor has been out of action since losing to bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in an explosive submission defeat at UFC 229. The Irishman, who has been very vocal about wanting a rematch against Khabib, has revealed this month in Moscow that he is all set to make his much-anticipated return to the cage against an undisclosed opponent on January 18 next year. Conor tried getting several other fights after failing to get a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The proposed opponents included Frankie Edgar. Donald Cerrone, Justin Gaethje, and the latest being Frankie Edgar.

UFC News: Dana White finally has an opponent for Conor McGregor!

Dana White, who was quick to shoot down Conor’s idea against the former Lightweight Frankie Edgar in a recent interview citing a weight class difference amongst other reasons, has now revealed Donald Cerrone as the front runner to fight Conor McGregor next.

Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone - Is the fight official?

UFC President Dana White has confirmed the comeback date of January 18 that was announced by Conor McGregor but has cautioned that the fight is not yet official.

The card, which will take place on January 18 is expected to be UFC 246 and will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Donald Cerrone was also vocal about wanting a match with Conor McGregor ever since the latter suffered a loss to Khabib, and was also in talks with the UFC for the matchup.

Donald Cerrone - His last performance in the octagon

Donald Cerrone had his last cage encounter against best friend Justin Gaethje in the main event of Fight Night 158. Cerrone did not have a successful showing after a crushing right hand and some follow-up shots spelt the end of the fight in the very first round.
