NBA: Luka Doncic makes history by recording back-to-back triple-double
On November 4, Luka Doncic became the first player since Oscar Robertson to record at least 25 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds in back-to-back games.

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic set multiple records after his triple-double performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, November 4. Mavericks beat Cavaliers 131-111 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Doncic scored 29 points, 15 assists and 14 rebounds.

As this is his second consecutive triple-double, he is the first player who has recorded a stat line like this in back-to-back games according to NBA stats. The last player to hold the record was Oscar Robertson in 1965. Luka Doncic is also the youngest to have consecutive 25-point triple-doubles. He is now also the second player to record consecutive 15-assist games. The first was Jason Kidd. Doncic previously scored 31 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 2, Saturday.

Doncic, who was the last NBA season's Rookie of the Year, has only performed consistently in his second year with the Mavericks. In the first six games, the guard put up 26.2 points per game, 9.6 rebounds, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. Doncic also shot 45.3% from the field and 31.8% from deep.

Luka Doncic has been crucial for the team's offence since his rookie season, even though his turnovers are a minor setback. In an interview with a new channel, head coach Rick Carlisle had admitted that he has never seen a player like Doncic before. Carlisle himself has two decades of experience as both coach and player. The Mavericks will be playing Orlando Magic next on Thursday, November 7 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas (7:00 am IST).
