UFC 246: Maycee Barber, Roxanne Modafferi verbally agree to flyweight fight

Maycee Barber has emerged as one of the feared young talents of the UFC women’s division and she will continue her journey with Roxanne Modafferi on the line in a flyweight bout. Maycee Barber, who holds a clean record of 8-0 and is yet to taste defeat, called out Paige Van Zant for a fight a few weeks back. However, PVZ showed no interest in Barber and claimed that she will never fight her ever for the disrespect she showed her. As per latest American media reports, Barber has found her new opponent in Modafferi and they have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 246.

UFC: Maycee Barber vs Roxanne Modafferi in UFC 246

UFC 246 is going to be live from T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas on January 18, 2020, and matches are yet to be fixed for the card. UFC has not officially announced the matchup between Mayce Barber and Roxanne Modafferi but both the women have agreed to face each other and UFC might call it out officially very soon. Maycee Barber made her UFC debut in November 2018 and since then, she had three sensational knockout victories against Hannah Cifers, JJ Aldrich and Gilian Robertson back-to-back. ‘The Future’ has a 3-0 record in UFC (8-0 in MMA) and dreams of becoming the youngest champion to claim the UFC title, breaking Jon Jones' record.

Roxanne Modafferi, on the other hand, holds an MMA record of 23-16, which includes 2-4 in the UFC. Her UFC journey has not been good till now and she has managed to gain only two victories against Barb Honchak and Antonina Shevchenko from six fights. However, in terms of experience, she surely holds the upper hand and that can be useful for her in the fight against Maycee Barber.
