After Shameful Loss PCB Axe Shaheen Afridi From Playing Eleven Ahead Of PAK vs BAN Second Test
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the opening match of the two-Test series by 10 wickets. Pakistan are on the seventh spot on WTC Points table
PAK vs BAN 2nd Test: Pakistan cricket is currently drowning and they don't have a way out. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) consistently goes through changes and this doesn't allow the team or the coaching staff to settle down. Pakistan were defeated by Bangladesh in the opening match of the PAK vs BAN Test series and drew a lot of flak from their cricket experts and fans. Pakistan had declared their first innings and they later went down to lose the Test by 10 wickets.
Pakistan Drop Shaheen Afridi
Once touted as Babar Azam's successor as the captain of Pakistan's white ball side, Shaheen Afridi now finds himself on the sidelines of the team. After his embarrassing show in the first Test match, Shaheen has now faced the axe and has been left out of the team for the second Test match. Pakistan have named legspinner Abrar Ahmed and fast bowler Mir Hamza in their side.
Jason Gillespie dodged the questions around Shaheen by saying that the left-arm pacer was "working on some things" as he wanted to improve his match effectiveness. 'Shaheen's had an interesting last couple of weeks. He's a new father. We're seeing an opportunity where we're able to allow him to go and spend some time with his family as well', said Gillespie.
Shaheen Afridi's form has taken a considerable hit and his pace has dropped. The Pakistan pacer who continuously clocked 140 kph is now operating in the mid-130 kmph. Though there are concerns regarding Afridi's injuries, he has constantly been downplaying it.
