Amid Trolls; LSG Captain Rishabh Pant Finds Support From Sunil Gavaskar After Loss vs DC in IPL 2025

IPL 2025: It was a night to forget for Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant . Not only did he not open his account as he perished for a duck after six balls, but as a leader also he was found wanting. Following the one wicket loss, Pant faced massive backlash on social space as he was in charge of the side.

But now, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has lent him some support. As per Gavaskar, there are 13 games still left and Pant would come back. He also reckoned once he starts getting the runs with the bat, his captaincy would also improve. 

 "When you bat well, there's not much to reflect upon, but when you don't perform with the bat or ball, you understand the areas that need improvement," he said on JioStar Match Center Live.

"I think he knows. He actually mentioned in the post-match interview that you often learn more from your mistakes than from your successes. This is just the first match, and there are 13 more to go. Rishabh Pant is an intelligent cricketer, and he will have picked up valuable insights regarding his batting and captaincy. I believe we will see him improve his performance. Additionally, when a captain scores runs or takes wickets, it significantly boosts their confidence in making bowling changes and setting the field. Once he gets some runs under his belt, I expect his captaincy to become even more assured," he added.

Th Super Giants take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game. LSG would obviously like to win that game and open their account. The game takes place on March 27 at the Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium.
