BCCI is set to announce the central contract list for the year 2025 in the next few days. A number of major changes could be expected as per several reports.

BCCI excluded both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the central contract list last year, but the latter is poised to make his return if reports are to be believed. Iyer returned to the Indian fold in the England series on home soil, and his consistent performances in the Champions Trophy could also prove to be a major factor in the decision.

BCCI Set To Take Major Calls On Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma

The major discussion has been whether both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will retain their place in the top grade. As per a Dainik jagran report, both the Indian stalwarts are set to be demoted in the BCCI central contract list. Grade A+ currently has four players: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah .

Both Rohit and Virat retired from the T20Is after India lifted the T20 World Cup last year. Cricketers who are in the A+ grade currently pocket a whopping 7 crore, while those in the A grade take home 5 crore per year. Cricketers in the B and C grades are being paid 3 and 1 crore, respectively.

If both Virat and Rohit were to be demoted, they would most likely be put in the A category, which will reduce earnings by a staggering 2 crore. Apart from Virat and Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja could also see himself being demoted in the central contract list. Jasprit Bumrah is likely to keep his place in the top tier.
