The ongoing Champions Trophy that is being hosted by Pakistan has become a comical affair. The Pakistan Cricket Board has been making tall claims since the day they were announced as the hosts of the Champions Trophy, but their claims keep on falling flat. The Champions Trophy opener that was played in the National Stadium in Karachi witnessed empty stands and a scary air show that ended up scaring New Zealand openers Will Young and Devon Conway.

Prior to the start of the 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board had conducted elaborate drills to stop fans from invading the the pitch, but something on the similar lines happened when New Zealand locked horns with Bangladesh in game number six of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy.

Pakistan Cricket Board Responds To Criticism Over Security Breach

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium saw a huge security breach after an invader ran onto the field and attempted to hug Kiwi and Chennai Super Kings youngster Rachin Ravindra. The shocking incident happened while New Zealand were chasing Bangladesh's total during the sixth match of the Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board has now responded to the incident that occurred in Rawalpindi.

'The PCB has taken serious note of the security breach that occurred yesterday when a spectator entered the field of play. Ensuring the safety of players and officials remains our top priority. As a responsible organisation, we have engaged with local security agencies, who have committed to increasing security personnel around the field of play at all venues and strengthening access control measures.

The individual involved was arrested and presented before a court of law today (Tuesday). In addition, he has been permanently banned from entering all cricket venues in Pakistan. To prevent such incidents in the future, the PCB is working closely with security agencies and venue authorities to review and reinforce security protocols.', said the Pakistan Cricket Board in an official statement.

Pakistan Knocked Out Of Champions Trophy 2025

After enduring two shameful and embarrassing defeats against New Zealand and arch-rivals India, Pakistan have been knocked out of the Champions Trophy. The defending champions will now play their final game against Bangladesh on February 27, 2025. The match will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
