Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma -led Team India will face Australia in the upcoming semi-final fixture of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The game will be the perfect stage for the Men in Blue to take revenge against the Aussies for their defeat in the 2023 ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad.

Team India is coming into the knockout stage of the 15-match ICC tournament after staying unbeaten in the group stage. They defeated Bangladesh , Pakistan , and New Zealand in the group stage. On the other hand, Steve Smith's Australia have  won only one game in the tournament; the rest of their matches against South Africa and Afghanistan were abandoned due to heavy rain.

All eyes will be on Indian stalwart Virat Kohi and his form. Kohli does hold the key to India's success in the semi-finals. However, it's not just Kohli, but both the top and middle order batters have performed exceptionally well, helping Rohit Sharma's side to maintain dominance in the ongoing tournament.

Kohli is just 139 runs short of leapfrogging Kumar Sangakkara (14234) and becoming the second-highest scorer in the 50-over format. The 36-year-old Indian batter has scored 14096 runs in the ODIs so far.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is also inching close to a milestone, he is 33 runs away from completing his 3000 ODI runs. Rahul made his ODI debut in 2016, and following that, he has scored 2967 runs at a strike rate of 87.67 from 83 ODIs

Indian all-rounder Axar Patel can also etch his name on the history books, the 31-year-old needs three more wickets to complete 200 international wickets for India.

On the other hand, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will also be eyeing to achieve a few unique landmarks in the upcoming match. Maxwell needs 17 more runs to complete 4000 ODI runs. He has played 148 ODI matches and has scored 3983 runs at a strike rate of 126.68.

The 36-year-old has smashed 154 sixes in the 50-over format and needs two more to surpass Yuvraj Singh's milestone of most ODI sixes (155). The all-rounder also eyes to become the second Australian after David Warner to slam 300 international sixes; he needs two more over-head boundaries to achieve the feat.

Aussie skipper Steve Smith needs 31 more runs to topple Shane Watson (5757) and become the 12th highest scorer for the mighty Aussies in the 50-over format.

What it seems like the first semi-final clash of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai will bring some major changes in the record books.
