Team India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has recently echoed that he is eager to be back in the fold amid a prolonged absence from the Indian National Cricket Team. Pujara expressed that the hunger has gradually increased, and he sees the need to put up runs on the scoreboard. The Indian cricketer is currently active in the domestic circuit and continues to hone his skills and will not leave the chance to make a return to Team India.
Cheteshwar Pujara Is Hungrier Than Ever
Team India is facing some tough times in red-ball cricket after they failed to prevail over New Zealand and Australia. The Border Gavaskar Trophy ended in horror after the Rohit Sharma-led side was defeated by Pat Cummins' men while Down Under. The Indian side needs someone to step up and stand out amid the ongoing slump. Test cricket great Cheteshwar Pujara is eager to make a comeback amid the Men in Blue's lean phase in the longest format of the game.
"I'm playing domestic cricket. If given a chance, I'm ready to grab it with both hands. The hunger is even more. When you are older, you need to work even harder. We have the bowling. We need to put runs on the board. And we have the players to do that. We have to respect the bowling and the conditions. I won't say that we don't have a chance,” Cheteshwar Pujara said while speaking to RevSportz.

Englang Tour Of India Could Be The Ideal Comeback Destination For Pujara
The absence of Cheteshwar Pujara from India's squad in the recent Border Gavaskar Trophy series caused a stir as he has been a stalwart in the red-ball format. Given his contributions to Team India in Test cricket, Pujara has been one of the modern-day greats in the game's longest format. Pujara last featured for Team India in the World Test Championship Final when they faced off against the eventual winners, Australia.
With the England tour of India approaching soon, Cheteshwar Pujara may have a chance to make a fruitful comeback. The batter's efforts have been immense in domestic cricket, and the numbers might push his case in front of the BCCI selectors to bring back Pujara into the Indian fold. Whether or not it would happen is subject to witness.
