'Welcome Back': Gujarat Titans Announce Matthew Wade As Team's Assistant Coach Ahead Of IPL 2025

Gujarat Titans will kick off their Indian Premier League campaign on 25th March 2025 against Punjab Kings.

The Indian Premier League is fast approaching as the T20 tournament is all set to kick off on 22nd March 2025. The IPL is the richest T20 league in the world and features the biggest players in the world along with domestic players. All the teams are busy in preparation for the fast approaching tournament as they will all be hoping to lift the trophy. Now ahead of the cash-rich tournament, former IPL winners Gujarat Titans have appointed a former Australian batter as their new assistant coach for the upcoming season. 

Gujrat Titans Appoint Matthew Wade As New Assistant Coach 

Ahead of the 2025 season the Indian Premier League, Gujarat based franchise Gujarat Titans have appointed former wicket keeper-batter Matthew Wade as their newest assistant coach. Matthew Wade has represented Gujarat Titans for two seasons. He played for the franchise in 2022 and 2024. 

Matthew Wade was not a part of the mega-auction as he had retired from international cricket. 

Gujarat Titans announced that Matthew Wade had joined the team as an assistant coach with a post on social media.

“We love this Saturday Surprise, Wadey! Welcome back as our Assistant Coach,” wrote Gujarat Titans on social media platform X.

Matthew Wade's Time With GT As A Player 

Matthew Wade during his time in the Indian Premier League had a short career which only consisted of 15 matches. Matthew Wade was part of Gujarat Titans in 2022 under the captaincy of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. This was also the season that Gujarat Titans lifted the IPL trophy.

Matthew Wade as he joined Gujarat Titans as an assistant coach will be joined by Ashish Nehra who is the head coach along with batting coach Parthiv Patel. Narendra Negi and Aashish Kapoor are also assistant coaches in the Gujarat Titans camp. 

Gujarat Titans will kick off their IPL campaign on 25th March 2025.
