Former Indian player and now commentator Harbhajan Singh is under scrutiny from fans after he made a racist remark against England and Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Jofra Archer during the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. Harbhajan Singh made the statement during the 18th over of the first innings when Jofra Archer was being smashed for runs by the SRH batters. Jofra Archer gave away 76 runs in four overs as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in their IPL clash.
Former Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh is under scrutiny for his racist remark against English bowler Jofra Archer. During the 18th over of the first innings in the match between SRH and RR, Jofra Archer was hit for a six on the third ball of the over. As Archer was smashed for a six, Singh who was on Hindi commentary compared the bowler to the black taxis of London and how their meters shoot up.
"London me kaali taxi ka meter tez bhaagta hai, Aur yaha pe Archer sahab ka meter bhi tez bhaaga hai" (The meters of the black taxis in London run up fast and here Jofra Archer's meter is also running up fast.) said Harbhajan Singh during the commentary.
As Jofra Archer bowled the most expensive four overs by any bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League, fans were enraged regarding the racist remark made by Harbhajan Singh on Archer.
