Injury Concerns For England, Hosts Call Up Uncapped Player To Replace Wood In 2nd ENG vs SL Test

ENG vs SL 2nd Test: England are currently hosting Sri Lanka for a three-match series. The English side in the absence of Ben Stokes are 1-0 up in the series are will look to win it straight by defeating Sri Lanka in the second match of the series. England might have won the first Test match but there are plenty of problems for them. They were already without their full-time skipper Ben Stokes and now they have sustained yet another blow in the form of Mark Wood.
England Call Up Uncapped Pacer
After injuries to opener Zak Crawley and full-time Test skipper Ben Stokes, England have more injury issues to deal with. Mark Wood sustained right thigh muscle strain while he was bowling in the second innings of the first Test match. After James Anderson and Stuart Broad's retirement, the responsibility lies with Mark Wood to dismiss opponent's top order batsmen and he delivers.
The English pacer registered an exceptional start to his spell in the second innings. Woods had also dismissed Dimuth Karunaratne off his first ball, but to his misfortune had to pull out of his spell during the 56th over. Wood did not bowl in the game again and England ended up winning the match by five wickets.

England have a lot to think about, Wood has now been ruled out of the series. The English team has replaced Mark Wood with Leicestershire’s Josh Hull. The Leicestershire pacer is a left-arm seamer. He recently played for England Lions against Sri Lanka and and picked five wickets at an average of 14.8. The uncapped youngster stands at 6’ 7 and has been Leicestershire's go to bowler in recent times.
