IPL 2025: Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions will be eager to repeat their heroics from the 2024 season. The three-time champions have gone through massive changes this year and their performance in IPL 2025 will be closely watched. After Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders are the most successful IPL franchise with three titles. Ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the Kolkata-based franchise let go off their skipper Shreyas Iyer. Gautam Gambhir who mentored KKR in 2024 is now the Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team and the onus of managing the team now falls upon Chandrakant Pandit and former CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Andre Russell on the other hand has won two IPL trophies with KKR. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana and Rahmanullah Gurbaz makes for a very strong core.

Kolkata Knight Riders' Weaknesses For IPL 2025

One might be tempted to think that all is well for Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, but if one has to look through the lines then there is a glaring weakness that the team management will be extremely cautious about. Injury management will be Kolkata Knight Riders' biggest challenge ahead during the eighteenth season of the IPL. The defending champions have injury prone players such as Andre Rusell and Anrich Nortje. Both of them are sure starters in KKR's playinng XI. Unfortunately for KKR, both of them have a history with injuries and have missed matches in the past.

Opportunities For Kolkata Knight Riders In IPL 2025

A change in leadership and management might not have diminished Kolkata Knight Riders' aspirations to win the Indian Premier League for the fourth time. The biggest opportunity is up in the air for Kolkata Knight Riders' skipper Ajinkya Rahane who will want to win the IPL as a skipper.
