The much-awaited start of the eighteenth season of the Indian Premier League is just few days away and the opening game will be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. KKR and RCB have a long history of rivalry and both these teams have always produced some classic matches. Though KKR have always had an upper hand over RCB, but this time around Virat Kohli and his side will like to get the better of the Kolkata-based franchise.
Alongside Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, both Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru enjoy the luxury of having a great fanbase. Whenever KKR play in Eden Gardens, the stadium turns into a sea of purple and gold. On the other hand, whenever RCB play in Chinnaswamy, one can only see Virat Kohli jerseys. Much ahead of the start of IPL 2025, both KKR and RCB are going through the hard grind to start the IPL on a winning note.
Luvnith Siosdia, 25, is a wicketkeeper-batsman who was picked up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022. The Bengaluru-based franchise had picked him up for a sum of INR 20 Lakhs. Sisodia had made his Karnataka debut in 2018-19 season during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Sisodia did turn eyeballs by scoring 312 runs ( 26 fours and 26 sixes) off 129 balls in a corporate 50-over tournament. However, RCB released Luvnith due to lack of game time.
The Kolkata Knight Riders procured Luvnith's service for INR 30 Lakhs and he might very well start for them considering his big hitting capabilities. A video is going viral where Luvnith can be seen grabbing a screamer while keeping wickets during KKR's practice game.
The Kolkata Knight Riders have the likes of Quinton De Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz in their ranks and they need to pick one of them whoi will start in their. They also have someone like a Luvnith Sisodia who can play at the top and also keep wicket. It will be interesting to see if Kolkata prefer Luvnith ahead of De Kock and Gurbaz.
