The Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals have welcomed the newborn daughter of wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul in the most heartwarming way possible. All the wicketkeeper-batter's teammates, as well as the coaching staff, performed a swaying baby gesture to commemorate the arrival of the new member in KL Rahul & Athiya Shetty's life. They made the gesture after securing a win in the season opener clash at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The Delhi Capitals secured a thrilling win against the Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants by a wicket in Visakhapatnam. Ashutosh Sharma declared himself to the world with his finishing capabilities as DC snatched the win off LSG's jaws in an action-packed game at Visakhapatnam. The Capitals open their season with a win in dominant fashion and have made themselves relevant in the title race this year. DC played without wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, who flew back home to be with his wife, who recently gave birth to a child. The Capitals celebrated the arrival of KL's newborn with a touching celebration.
In a video shared by the Delhi Capitals on 'X' [Formerly Twitter], the team, including head coach Hemang Badani, mentor Kevin Pietersen, skipper Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk among other players and staff swayed their arms to celebrate the newborn child of KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty announced the arrival of their newborn on Monday, March 24, 2025. The Bollywood actress posted an image of two swans and it had a message which read, "Blessed with a baby girl." The couple tied the knot in January 2023 and announced their pregnancy in November 2024.
With the arrival of his baby daughter, Team India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul will be filled with positivity after having a spectacular start to the year 2025. Team India won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, and KL played a key role in the middle order for the side. He will now join the Delhi Capitals camp for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.
