IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians is easily one of the most popular franchises in the history of the league. Whatever happens in and around the MI franchise makes news. Despite having lost their tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings , the mood in the MI camp seems upbeat.
During a recent team photoshoot, MI veteran Suryakumar Yadav was spotted giving valuable advise to you MI debutant Vignesh Puthur. The young cricketer seemed a little out of place during the particular shoot and that is when he found help from Suryakumar. The MI veteran told him to calm down and smile. After the advise from Surya, Puthur looked more relaxed and at ease.
Meanwhile, in his debut for MI, Puthur impressed all by picking up three crucial wickets in his four overs quota, conceding merely 32 runs. MI lost the game by four wickets. Following the oss, Surya reckoned that MI wre 15-20 runs short of where they would have wanted to be. He also went onto lavish praise on the youngster, Vignesh.
"We were 15-20 runs short but the fight the boys showed was commendable. Amazing, MI is known for that - giving youngsters opportunities, the scouts do this for 10 months and he (Vignesh) is a product of that. I kept his one over in the pocket if the game went deep, but it was a no-brainer to give him the 18th over," Surya said after the loss against CSK.
MI take on Gujarat Titans in their next encounter. Both teams have superstars and nothing short of a humdinger is expected. The game takes place on March 29 at the popular Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. When MI take on GT, spotlight would be on the youngster and also the former captain, Rohit Sharma . The ex-MI captain registered a duck in the opener.
