Delhi Capitals have secured a humongous win over the Lucknow Super Giants by 1 wicket in a neck-to-neck thriller. Ashutosh Sharma smacks the winning six and there is a wave of joy in the Delhi Camp. Rishabh Pant 's tactics and LSG's early momentum did not last long against the Capitals' fighting spirit in the game.
Delhi Capitals blew up their start big-time after practically handing away their wickets to the Lucknow Super Giants during the play. Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sameer Rizvi and Abhishek Porel's mistimed shots opened the chances for the Super Giants to capitalize. Faf du Plessis and skipper Axar Patel pulled off some shots in an attempt to put DC ahead, but the Indian all-rounder fell to Rathi's spell. Tristan Stubbs gave some hope to the DC dugout and pulled off some big hits while being under pressure, but Manimaran Siddharth bowled him out. Ashutosh Sharma stood out as the man of the hour with his big hits and became DC's saviour to sweep the win off LSG's grasp. Sharma brings out the Kevin Pietersen celebration after hitting the winning six, as the mentor looks euphoric, with the dressing room breaking out in a passionate celebration.
Lord Shardul Thakur came in clutch for the Super Giants after scalping two wickets in an over. DC looked in turmoil after the early blows and the visitors picked up key wickets to shift the momentum in their side. Maniraman Siddharth, Digvesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets respectively, while Pant pulled off a successful run-out to dismiss Kuldeep Yadav.
The Lucknow Super Giants picked up a blazing start with top-order batters Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran going big and raking up sixes and fours. The team lost opener Aiden Markram at 15, but Nicholas Pooran went hand-in-hand with Marsh to pull off a stunning knock. LSG made use of the power-play as Pooran & Marsh forged a partnership to help LSG reach 133/1 in the 12th over. Sadly, Rishabh Pant's debut in LSG did not go as planned after falling for a six-ball duck. While Miller tried to score with his unbeaten 27, the Super Giants were restricted at 209/8, courtesy of DC's supreme comeback with the ball.
Mitchell Starc showed who's the boss with his timber-breaking deliveries and uprooted the stumps twice in the game. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav also came in strong and picked scalped two wickets to limit LSG's momentum. Vipraj Nigam and Mukesh Kumar also bagged a wicket each in the game.
