England cricketer Harry Brook has been suspended from registering himself in the Indian Premier League auction after he opted out of the IPL 2025 season just days before its onset. BCCI Enforce New Player Norms As Harry Brook Gets Two-Year Suspension From Registering For IPL

The BCCI has enforced a ban on Harry Brook after he pulled out right before the beginning of the IPL 2025 season. As per reports, the BCCI has informed the ECB regarding Brook being banned for the next two years. The BCCI looks to enforce the rules strongly, and the participating players need to follow them.

“An official communication has been sent to ECB and Brook about BCCI banning him for two years as per its policy, which was informed to each player before they registered their name for IPL auction last year. It’s a policy set by the board, and each player has to oblige to it,” a BCCI official said to Indian Express.

What Do The New Norms From The BCCI Say?

Brook's suspension comes after the BCCI made changes to the rules over players' participation in the franchise cricket league. The Indian Cricket Board revised their rules to ensure that the participants do not pull out from the competition.

“Any player who registers in the auction and after getting picked, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 seasons,” the new rules implemented by the BCCI said.

Brook pulling out could cause a big problem for DC's strategy. It is yet to be seen whether the Capitals will look for a replacement or move ahead into the IPL 2025 season without any additions.
