Rajasthan Royals' head coach, Rahul Dravid, has displayed the ultimate level of commitment towards the game of cricket despite being injured. The former India cricketer, who recently picked up an injury, has arrived at the Rajasthan Royals' camp in Jaipur. Dravid arrived on a golf cart and walked into the training on crutches, and he was seen observing the players as they took up some training. As the Rajasthan Royals head into the IPL 2025 season, Dravid will be closely working with Kumar Sangakkara, the team's director of cricket and skipper Sanju Samson.
The Rajasthan Royals have revealed that their head coach, Rahul Dravid, picked up an injury while playing cricket and shared an image of the former Team India head coach on crutches. The 52-year-old arrived in Jaipur on March 12 and will be with the team as they prepare for the IPL 2025 season. Dravid was not a part of the RR camp for a while but has now returned to the base.
In a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals on 'X', head coach Rahul Dravid arrived at the team's training camp on a golf cart and was seen interacting with players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag and offering them some guidance. He also looked on while the players took up training as they prepared for the IPL 2025 season.
Rahul Dravid suffered the injury when he was in action at a cricket match. At the KSCA's Group III league semifinal, Dravid represented the Vijaya Cricket Club and was forging a partnership with his 16-year-old son, Anvay. The veteran sustained discomfort during the game after two deliveries but continued to bat. Trouble increased at the 18th over when he injured his calf muscle and fell to the ground in agony.
Despite the injury, head coach Dravid made his way to the RR camp, which would bring a newfound energy among the cricketers in the side. The Rajasthan Royals will now face off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in an away match to begin their campaign at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 23, 2025.
