IPL 2025: Mystery Spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, Star Pacer Harshit Rana Join KKR Camp After CT 2025 Triumph

Indian Premier League: As the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) 2025 is around the corner, mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and star pacer Harshit Rana joined the Kolkata Knight Riders' training camp. Varun and Harshit are joining the Knight Riders after India's triumph at the Champions Trophy 2025. Both the bowlers were a part of India's squad for the recently concluded ICC event. Varun and Harshit displayed a stupendous performance for the Men in Blue in the Champions Trophy 2025. 

Varun was the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 9 scalps. While Harshit bagged four wickets from two CT 2025 matches. The two bowlers' top form will play a crucial role for the Kolkata-based franchise in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Varun and Harshit's presence in the KKR squad will strengthen the franchise's bowling attack.

"Our mystery man lands in Kolkata," KKR wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) while sharing Varun's pictures in the camp.

“Aaj sirf baarish hi nahi, Kolkata mein Hurricane bhi aaya hai,” KKR wrote while Harshit's pictures in the KKR camp.

In IPL 2024, Varun played 15 matches, bagging 21 wickets at an economy rate of 8.04. Overall, the spinner played 71 IPL matches, picking up 83 wickets at an economy rate of 7.56. On the other hand, Rana played 13 matches in IPL 2024, where he bagged 19 wickets at an economy rate of 9.08.

Kolkata Knight Riders displayed a stupendous performance in the IPL 2024 and clinched the title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Final by eight wickets. It was KKR's third IPL title. In the upcoming edition of the T20 tournament, the Knight Riders will begin their campaign on March 22 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens.
