The Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants will have a huge relief after they secured a victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Nicholas Pooran and Opener Mitchell Marsh helped push through with the bat while the bowler did a phenomenal job to keep the SRH batters under control. Hyderabad did a fair job with the ball as they picked up five dismissals, but the Super Giants stood tall as they secured a five-wicket win over the hosts. Check out the updated points table after the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
After the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants match-up, the Rishabh Pant-led side took a massive leap and reached the number two spot in the IPL 2025 standings due to their better NRR. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently the table toppers, with Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings and the Delhi Capitals at the number three, four and five spots respectively.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad slumped to the number six spot after suffering a loss against LSG, and they have the Kolkata Knight Riders right behind them at the number seven spot. Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals are at the number eight, nine and ten spots, respectively.
The Lucknow Super Giants, led by Rishabh Pant, demonstrated intent against an energised Sunrisers Hyderabad on their home turf. Mitchell Marsh started things off with an impactful 31-ball 52. While skipper Rishabh Pant struggled with the bat, Nicholas Pooran carried the load with a 26-ball 70 that included six fours and six sixes. David Miller and Abdul Samad played well near the end, with Miller scoring the winning boundary.
Shardul Thakur continued his dominance with the ball, taking four wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The hosts' top order crumbled after they lost Abhishek Sharma and then Ishan Kishan for a golden duck. Travis Head missed out on a half-century after being bowled out by Prince Yadav for 47. After the threat was neutralised, the game shifted in LSG's favour, with them picking up key wickets to keep SRH under control. The middle-order attempted to gain some momentum, with Aniket Verma hitting some big shots to score a 13-ball 36 before being dismissed. Klassen's bizarre run-out was unfortunate for them because he could have contributed significantly to SRH's run total.
