The second match of the IPL 2025 season saw the Sunrisers Hyderabad play in front of the Orange Army as they hosted Rajasthan Royals in their season opener clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. However, a scary situation unfolded after Royals' Sandeep Sharma was accidentally hit by the ball on the chest by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had tossed it towards the bowler for him to collect it up. But Sandeep suffered an unforeseen blow to the chest during the action at Uppal.
The moment happened during the seventh over, right after the Sunrisers Hyderabad's dominant display in the power-play overs. After delivering the ball, Sandeep Sharma was seen engaging in a light-hearted conversation with Travis Head as he took the run between the wickets. Both were seen smiling as they crossed paths. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was positioned towards the long-off, threw the ball back towards Sandeep to collect for the next delivery.
But Sandeep Sharma was unaware that the ball was coming towards him and it directly struck him in the chest. The blow looked strong and the medical staff came rushing onto the field. But Sandeep looked and brushed off the injury scare by returning to the mark and completing his over.

Ishan Kishan's unbeaten innings helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a record-breaking 286/8 victory over the Rajasthan Royals. Kishan scored his first IPL century in 45 balls after Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the stage. The Australian opener smashed a 31-ball 67, while Abhishek scored 24 off 11 balls to shift the momentum in Hyderabad's favour.
SRH's middle order also performed admirably, with Nitish Reddy scoring 30 runs and Heinrich Klassen contributing 34. Tushar Deshpande scalped three wickets and Theekshna took two. However, SRH has already caused damage, and they will need to take a more aggressive approach if they want to chase the target.
