Rohit Sharma endured a very poor start to IPL 2025 having failed to open his account in Mumbai Indians' IPL 2025 opener against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Rohit was retained by MI for a whopping 16.30 crore in IPL 2025.
The 37-year-old played a brilliant knock in the Champions Trophy 2025 final setting up the platform for India. Rohit's T20 credentials can never be put under doubt but he became a victim of another Khaleel Ahmed. The Indian captain has had a bit of history with left-arm pacers but Kane Williamson has rejected all the concerns.

The former New Zealand skipper who made his commentary debut said on Star Sports, "It’s just the first match. Khaleel Ahmed has a real knack for taking early wickets in the powerplay, and that set the tone for the Chennai side. As for Rohit, he has faced a huge number of left-arm pacers throughout his career, and he will continue to play with freedom. There’s a long tournament ahead, and I’m excited to see how he goes."
